Course Layout

Number 1 is a 395 yard, uphill par 4 that plays into a predominant south wind. Tee shots should be played to the right side of the fairway to avoid the bunker on the left side of the fairway and allow for the slope of the fairway. A good drive will setup a short to mid iron into a large green. Avoid misses long and left.

One of the most scenic holes at Firekeeper, starts a stretch of 3 difficult holes. Try to avoid the five fairway bunkers by playing your tee shot to the right side of the fairway. Beware of “The Coffin” on your second shot.

A long par 4, will challenge all players. A good tee shot will leave a mid to long iron into a green guarded by a large grass bunker. To avoid the bunker, play to the left side of the green where everything funnels back towards the middle of the green.

This 3 shot par 5 plays 640 yards from the back tees. To keep your tee shot in an ideal spot, start your tee shot down the middle of the fairway over the hedge post. Your second shot will leave you with a decision.

Attempt to keep you ball in the upper portion of the fairway and bring the native grass into play, or take the safe route and keep the ball in the lower portion and out of trouble

Don’t judge this short par 3 by its yardage. Playing into the predominantly south wind, a low controlled shot will be required to find the green. Long and right is the only miss as two deep bunkers guard the left and short right side of the green.

This straight away par 5 presents a real birdie chance. Keep your tee shot right of the bunker. The long hitters have a chance of reaching the green in two with a good tee shot. Favor the left side of the green as the large buffalo shaped bunker will leave a difficult and long shot in to this large double green.

The seventh, a long downhill par 3, places a premium on accuracy. The front of the green is guarded by a large slope that feeds balls back towards the creek. Play to the center of the green to avoid any difficult up and down.

A good tee shot is right center of the fairway to avoid the large cottonwood that protects the green from any shot from the left side of the fairway. Playing a shorter club off the tee is a good option to keep your tee shot in ideal position. A good tee shot will leave a short to mid iron to a large green with a slope running through the middle.

Number nine is an uphill par 4 that can play anywhere from 300 to 440 yards. Playing into the southerly wind adds an additional challenge. Nine starts with a narrow tee shot out of a chute, into a fairway that slopes right to left, towards the two fairway bunkers. The fairway bunker protecting the front left of the green will make any up and down extremely difficult.

Trouble lurks everywhere on this hole. A sharp right to left dogleg par 4 from an elevated tee shot presents one of the more challenging drives at Firekeeper. The ideal tee shot should be played at the 150 post with a slight draw. A creek guards the entire front side of the green, error towards the back middle of the green.

Hole eleven is the shortest of the par 5’s. A long tee shot will give you a chance of reaching the green in two. But, be wary of the sharp drop off right and long that surround the smallest green at Firekeeper. 

The twelfth begins a stretch of four difficult holes. Aim your tee shot at the left edge of the fairway bunker. An accurate second shot will be need as the green has steep drop offs on three sides making any up and down difficult. Once on the green you will find this green is one of the most challenging and severe on the golf course.

A narrow par 3,it is also the longest of the par 3’s. A long iron or even a wood will be necessary to reach this green. Avoid the grass bunkers to the right of the green by playing your tee shot to the middle of the green. Par here should leave you smiling.

A scenic 3 shot par 5 with a creek that divides the fairway, be careful not to bite off too much on your tee shot. An accurate lay-up will be necessary to leave you with an ideal approach shot. The green is elevated and has a large false front. Play it safe here and keep your approach shot on the right side of the green.

A long, uphill left to right par 4 that slopes toward the hazard along the right side of the hole. To avoid going in the hazard, aim your tee shot at the grass bunkers on top of the hill.

The green has a shaved slope on the left that filters shots back toward the middle of the green. Any shot short and right will find one of two deep bunkers that protect the green.

A downhill par 3, is defined by a creek that runs in front and right of the green. This creek comes into play if your tee shot misses right of the green.

With severe undulation surrounding the green and tricky bunkers long, an up and down here is difficult. However, with proper club selection you will have a great chance at birdie.

A short par 4 with a generous fairway, presents a great birdie opportunity. Two deep bunkers protect the green from any who choose to challenge the green on their tee shot. Be careful as the green here has several severe slopes.

Any careless shot into this green could turn into a difficult thirty footer.

The finishing hole presents a risk reward option off the tee. A separate fairway sits on the left side of the hole. To reach it you will have to carry your tee shot over a pond and a brush creek, a dangerous play, but one that if successful leaves a short iron into the green.

The safe play is down the left which leaves a mid to long iron into the green. Your second shot is uphill and into a natural amphitheater, and a green surrounded by bunkers. Par here is a great finish.
